With a vision to breathe new life into their adopted hometown of Plainville, Massachusetts, author Jeff Kinney – of the popular Wimpy Kid series – and his wife Julie purchased an abandoned commercial property. Big ambitions and a goal to connect people to their neighbors, their community, and the world through literature led the Kinney’s to revive and re-invent the model of the local bookstore. Just a few months after its opening, the building at 111 South Street, and its new bookstore An Unlikely Story, has gained much acclaim. From press coverage in The New York Times and The Boston Globe to televised features on NBC TODAY and CBS Sunday Morning, the response from the media and more importantly, the community, has been tremendous. It’s been a pleasure working with the Kinney’s on this groundbreaking project and watching its success and popularity grow.
Check out some press highlights below and keep an eye out for photos of the project soon.
