What motivated you to become a designer (or current role?)?
Aside from the typical answer of “I became a designer because I feel like I could improve peoples experiences in a space” or “I want to help change peoples lives”. I was also inspired on what this profession would do for me. I feel like everyday is different, but still has some structure (perfect for people who love planning), you are constantly getting inspired by everything around you and spend your day problem solving and end up with something to backup all your hard work. The whole idea of having a portfolio of production work after a long career is something that a lot of other professionals envy, and we are one of the lucky ones that get paid to do something we love.
What does successful workplace culture mean to you?
A place where everyone feels welcomed. An office environment where hierarchy only applies to working teams. Where everyone is considered a friend, and some are family.
What would you be doing if you were not working in this industry?
I always said if I wasn’t working in this field, I would be a doctor. I watch so many doctor TV shows it sometimes blurs the line between fantasy and reality. But, I realized what I really want to do is help people. So, if I wasn’t in this industry, and I was somehow given this opportunity, I would love to run an orphanage.
How do you take your coffee?
Hot or iced, but always a latte!
What’s your most used emoji?
It’s a tie between the tears of joy face and the woman face palming...sometimes the unamused face makes its way up there.
What's your favorite source of news?
Elite Daily, Buzzfeed...enough news to know what’s happening in the world, without ruining my day with negativity.
What’s your ideal superpower?
Time Manipulation - make awkward and sad moments shorter, boring time pass faster and good times last longer.
If you had millions to donate, which cause would you choose to share it with?
Orphanages.
What valuable lesson did you learn from your parents?
No matter what, I can always come home.
What advice would you give to your fifteen-year-old self?
Time and experience will heal everything, if you choose to let go.
