What motivated you to become a designer (or current role?)?
I think design & architecture is in my blood; my parents both work in the construction field & I grew up trying to convince my dad to repaint my bedroom every summer (Victoria’s Secret pink stripes one year!!) My passion for interior design only grew over time as I began to realize the effect that a physical space can have on people.
When you are retired and look back on your life, what is the biggest accomplishment you hope to achieve?
My hope is that I’ve dedicated a substantial part of my life to helping others both in general and in the design world. In my professional life, I would like to have fulfilled a dream of teaching & becoming a great mentor. Personally, I have a love for volunteering and hope to continue this throughout my life in increasingly impactful ways.
Do you have a talent (outside of being your talented self at Bergmeyer) that you are proud of?
A talent of mine that excites me is event planning. Organizing a party is all about curating a memorable experience where people can enjoy themselves. I feel that the parties I plan are an expression of my personality & I can be more free-spirited in the design process. Everyone loves a theme!
What's your favorite app right now?
Poshmark – I’m really into selling my clothes. Sometimes I just want to get rid of everything in my closet!
If you were to get a new degree or certification, what would it be?
Psychiatry; I was deciding between psychiatry and interior design when I first went to college. I love figuring out why people do the things they do.
What’s the most important part of your morning routine?
Not forgetting my T pass.
At what age would you live forever?
I would freeze time right now; mid-twenties are pretty fun.
What would you be doing if you weren’t here?
Living out of a suitcase & traveling the world aimlessly.
Where do you go for a weekend getaway?
My family has a piece of land in Bethel, Maine. I typically go there whenever I need a break from reality!
What was your first job?
In high school, I worked at Ski Bradford in the rental shop handing out ski boots.
