What motivated you to become a designer (or current role?)?
I was in high school, and just loved to create things and draw. I was always interested in art, but never had a focus. My high school art teacher Ms. Volpe spent extra time with me, inspiring me to look at architecture and how to create spaces. She helped me realize my dream, and I still think about her to this day. Because of this inspiration, I’ve also volunteered at local schools to talk about the profession and try to inspire the next generation.
When you are retired and look back on your life, what is the biggest accomplishment you hope to achieve?
I just want to make people happy.
What would you be doing if you were not working in this industry?
I always wanted to cook. I love the art of preparing it especially. I don’t care how long it takes, or how many ingredients. The more the better!
It also satisfies my OCD aligning my chopped piles, and creating art before it’s even assembled.
What’s your most powerful characteristic?
From my Enneagram tests, I’ve found myself to be the “giver". What more do I need to say?
What advice would you give to your ten-year-old self?
Invest everything in Apple. Ask for all birthday gifts in stock certificates.
Coffee or tea?
Both – usually starts with two cups of coffee at home, then transition to tea. Ice tea = king
What's your favorite TV show right now?
Anthony Bourdain – Parts Unknown. I’d love to travel the world, or just those peculiar places he finds just around the corner. I love his vibe, the music and straight up approach to life. Dropping an F-bomb or two during narration doesn’t hurt either.
What's your favorite season?
Being blessed in New England – I love them all. I could never have one season. Listening to spring peepers at night, laying at the beach, building a fire on a chilly fall night, and sitting in quiet during the first snowfall are all things I love and could not live without.
What’s your ideal superpower?
Create an endless glass of wine
What do you listen to when you’re in the zone?
My musical tastes are like a literal combination of every Pandora station on shuffle. You may catch me listening on my Sonos at home to DJ Khaled, and in another room I might have funk jazz while cooking. One never knows what’s next.
